Palgrave Macmillan is a leading global publisher of monographs, textbooks, reference books, professional books, journals and online resources. We are seeking to appoint a regional sales representative who will be responsible for the Scotland and Ireland territory.

The role is home-based and requires a self-motivated, extremely independent, personable and confident individual with the capacity to assimilate new information quickly. Experience of academic publishing or bookselling would be an advantage but is not essential.

Managing your own territory, you will be expected to generate new business, maintain and expand bookshop accounts and develop relationships with lecturers and universities. You will be required to analyse sales figures and communicate with colleagues in the sales, marketing and editorial departments on a daily basis.

You will work well as part of a team but also have the initiative to achieve your own goals. Good time management and communication skills are essential and you should also possess excellent organisational ability. This is an exciting and challenging position, which will involve regular travel throughout Scotland and Ireland.
