Description:

 Our client, a global, professional publisher of journals, books and online products, based in Oxford is looking for a Product Manager for Online Services. Reporting to the Managing Director of the Journals Division you will be responsible for defining the business needs for one of the major imprints and contributing to the strategic direction of the product. This will include:

 

  • Developing short-term and long-term roadmap setting out the strategic direction.
  • Agree annual budget for development in line with business needs
  • Undertake regular reviews of the site in relation to internal and market requirements
  •  Identify strategic initiatives and work with the business to agree content and scheduling   of these
  •  Work with external stakeholders to gather and interpret customer feedback and future development needs
  • Define and monitor how business benefits are realised and provide analysis of costs and benefits
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, both distribution and others
  • Ensure development is in line with overall corporate online strategy.

 Change Management:

 

  • Ensure all Change Requests from the business are addressed by the product management team
  • Ensure that business specifications are delivered and that they clearly and unambiguously identify the requirements
  • Agree priorities for Change Requests and Defects with business

 Online Services Development – General

 

  • Contribute to overall development of the business analysis function within the T&F Group
  • Transfer skills and knowledge gained to other projects as appropriate

The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre, with sound commercial experience. You should have excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills and need an ability to control, manage and report on financial budget.  Experience of managing a small team together with good interpersonal skills is required as is the ability to prioritise and adapt to varying workloads. A good knowledge and experience of academic publishing is preferred.  This role carries a competitive salary commensurate with a role of this nature.
