Felix Dennis behind B&T buyout
Poet and entrepreneur Felix Dennis has been revealed as one of the investors behind the unexpected management rescue bid of printer Butler and Tanner, according to a piece on BBC Points West.
Property management company Edward Symmons last week completed the sale of the firm's assets to individual buyers but a last-ditch m.b.o. bid from former employees now appears to have saved the firm.
According to the BBC, the managers are still in talks, and there has been no official statement: but a deal has been done with the owner of the site and unions say they are 80% confident of the deal being done.

When a successful and highly respected entrepeneur such as Felix Dennis sees the long-term value and potential in Butler and Tanner it should be a wake up call for the booktrade : the UK print industry is having a rough time, but it is far from willing to lay down and die.01 Jul 08 08:18
