Money Magpie to Vermilion
Vermilion has struck a two-book deal with financial expert Jasmine Birtles, founder of the Money Magpie website (www.moneymagpie.com). Publishing director Clare Hulton bought UK and Commonwealth rights, including Canada, in The Money Magpie: How to Get Rich Without Really Trying, from Euan Thorneycroft at A M Heath.
The book is said to offer down-to-earth suggestions to help people save and make money even when times are tough, and will be published in April 2009. A second book will follow in 2010.
Birtles is a columnist for the Daily Express and writes for the Independent on Sunday, as well as making regular TV appearances on BBC Breakfast, This Morning and GMTV.
