Oneworld has acquired the first book by professional British chef and blogger Anthony Warner, otherwise known as 'The Angry Chef'.
Alex Christofi, senior commissioning editor, bought UK & Commonwealth rights to The Angry Chef: Angry about lies, pretentions and stupidity in the world of food, from Alexandra Cliff at Peters Fraser and Dunlop.
Christofi said: "Food is a national obsession, and books about food dominate the bestseller lists. So why aren’t we talking more about the utterly daft claims being made about various diets and superfoods? What I love about Anthony Warner is that he takes unpalatable and sloppy pseudoscience and uses it to cook up a dry, frankly delicious polemical in defence of good food. If you're thinking of investing in a new recipe book, you need to read this first."
Warner said: "I get angry about these things because I care about them. I care about food, care about what people eat, care about the huge crisis caused by obesity, care about the future food supply of the world. I want to play a small part in holding the people that work in food to account."
