Annette Thomas, former c.e.o. of Macmillan Science and Education, has joined the board of Clarivate Analytics.
Thomas currently serves as a Trustee and board member of The Yale Corporation, the governing board and policy-making body for Yale University. She left Springer Nature in March 2016, where she held the post of chief sicentific officer.
Thomas’s careers spans nearly 25 years in scientific and educational publishing – she began her career as a cell biology editor for Nature, before being appointed managing director of Nature Publishing Group, followed by chief executive of Macmillan Publishers Ltd, and then chief executive of Macmillan Science and Education, before becoming chief scientific officer.
Jay Nadler, c.e.o. of Clarivate Analytics, praised Thomas’ “industry-wide reputation” for “creating long-term sustainable growth by fostering innovation and taking a customer lead approach”.
He said: “I’m delighted that she is joining our board at a critical time as we accelerate investment and growth as an independent company”.
Thomas added that she feels "honoured" to be joining the company's board.
