BBC Books is publishing an in-depth account of the Class of '92’s takeover of Salford City FC, authored by the ex-Manchester United stars Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt, with chief football writer for the Mail on Sunday Rob Draper.
Class of 92: Out of Our League will be published to coincide with the second series of the BBC1 hit documentary of the same name, airing in the autumn.
Albert DePetrillo, senior editorial director at BBC Books, bought UK and Commonwealth rights to the title, including audio, from Zoe King at The Blair Partnership.

The book documents the players’ struggle to turn around the fortunes of their semi-professional club, Salford City, taking readers through the highs and lows, from stinging final-minute defeats to dramatic Cup successes. Pitched as "a celebration of the best of modern football”, it is also about football’s role in building a community, and is filled with “colourful” characters, including managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, club chairman Karen Baird, players like Gareth Seddon and Danny Webber, committee members, and lifelong fans.
Class of 92: Out of Our League: Our Journey Back to the Heart of the Game will publish in September, priced £20, in royal hardback.
