Bloomsbury Children’s Books is publishing new editions of J K Rowling’s Harry Potter series with fresh covers and bonus material originating from digital platform Pottermore.
The new editions will tell readers how they can learn more about Harry Potter on Pottermore.com.
Bloomsbury is reissuing the books in paperback and hardback with new covers from Jonny Duddle, author and illustrator of picture books The Pirate Cruncher and The Pirates Nest (Templar). Pottermore will sell the e-book editions of the titles with the Duddle covers.
All seven titles will be published on 1st September.
Duddle said: "I'm hugely excited to work my way through the wonderful books, I couldn’t have asked for more enjoyable subject matter. It’s exciting, daunting and I feel the weight of responsibility, and I’m just hoping that my illustrations faithfully reflect the characters and the world created by J K Rowling.”
Next year, Bloomsbury will also start publishing a fully illustrated Harry Potter series, with illustrations from Jim Kay. The colour edition of the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, will be published in autumn 2015.
