Bluebird is publishing Australian global fitness expert Kayla Itsines' first healthy eating and lifestyle book, The Bikini Body 28 Day Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Guide.
Publisher Carole Tonkinson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Australia and New Zealand, along with translation rights, directly from Kayla Itsines’ business management.
The book is aimed at helping women to become "healthier, stronger and confident" through a healthy, balanced diet and Itsines' high-intensity workouts. It promises to be "beautifully designed, colourful book packed with delicious recipes", including 200 recipes as well as a complete 4-week workout plan, encompassing the author's "signature" 28-minute workouts.
Personal trainer Itsines, 25, originally used Instagram as a tool to upload before-and-after photos of the clients she trained and amassed a global following. She now has eight million fans on Facebook and over 5.4m followers on Instagram. Her "Sweat With Kayla" fitness app claims to be the largest female fitness community in the world and she has also self-published an e-book called The Bikini Body Training Guide.
She has also hosted two consecutive "World Bootcamp Tours" - free fitness events that have been held across Australia, Amsterdam, London, Berlin, NYC and LA in 2015 and 2016 - one of which her publisher, Tonkinson, attended last month at London’s Olympia.
Itsines, commented: “The BBG community has been asking me for a book for a while now, so I am beyond excited to announce the release of my very first book for them! Growing up in a Greek family has taught me so much about eating a variety of foods and the importance of fuelling your body with nourishing foods. I hope this book will help women kick-start their health and fitness journey and stay on track.”
Tonkinson said the book for Itsines' "eager and awaiting worldwide audience" already had phones "ringing off the hook" with translation deals "happening at an incredible rate”.
The Bikini Body 28 Day Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Guide will be published in paperback on 29th December.
