Digital publisher Bookouture is expanding its editorial team by hiring Kirsty Greenwood as an associate publisher, promoting Keshini Naidoo as a second associate publisher, and hiring Natasha Hodgson as an editor.
Greenwood is the founder of the Novelicious blog and author of Yours Truly, which sold 120,000 copies as a self-published novel before being picked up by Pan Macmillan. At Bookouture she will be looking for psychological suspense novels, romantic comedies and women’s fiction.
Oliver Rhodes, m.d. of Bookouture, said Greenwood has an “amazing knowledge of commercial fiction an amazing network of contacts and an entrepreneurial dynamism that makes her a perfect fit with Bookouture”.
Naidoo, formerly senior commissioning editor at Bookouture, has been promoted and will also be an associate publisher.
“Keshini has an incredible talent for identifying and nurturing crime and thriller authors,” said Rhodes. “The list she’s developed in such a short time is nothing short of outstanding - and I know that there’s much more to come.”
New editor Hodgson is joining Bookouture from Canongate and will work on developing the imprint’s audio list as well as acquiring her own authors.
The publisher has been expanding over the past few months and hired Lydia Vassar-Smith as an associate publisher and Natalie Butlin as publishing executive last September.
At the time, Rhodes said: “When I first started the company in 2012, the ethos was to combine high quality publishing and a great success rate for each of our authors at a global level. Three years on and that ethos remains the same. We have a string of bestsellers under our belt and are now in a position to expand our team further, enabling us to publish more, but with the same high attention to detail that we've always had.”
