Illustrator agency Bright Group International’s London office has hired Sandra Tharumalingam Willmer as global contracts manager.
In the new role Tharumalingam Willmer will oversee all client contracts and report to finance director Eamonn O’Domhnaill. She joins Bright from Walker Books, where she was senior business affairs manager. She has also worked in contracts at Random House, Hachette and Sage Publications.
“Having worked on the publisher side of the publishing contracts equation, I’m excited by this wonderful new opportunity for me to finally work for the artists and their best interests alongside their agents,” she said. “Bright offers a unique blend of exceptional artist and author care with forward-thinking entrepreneurial rights management. The challenge of how to reconcile the best possible contractual terms for our artists across innovative new ventures is inspiring at this transitional time in the publishing and multimedia industries.”
Bright Group chairman Amanda Wood said: “We are delighted to welcome Sandra to the ever-expanding Bright team. We hope her wealth of experience will help us deliver an even better service to our artists in the areas of contract negotiation and royalty reporting.”
