Collins Learning India has appointed Chaitali Moitra to the role of managing director to replace previous m.d. Sri Krishna Naroor.
Moitra was previously vice president of sales at Macmillan Education. She will also join the HarperCollins India Board.
Collins India launched its first publications to the market in late 2013, and has since engaged in textbook publishing for classes I to VIII.
Ananth Padmanabhan, c.e.o. HarperCollins India, said: "Our Collins business is arguably the fastest growing education business in India, moving into the scale-up phase from its start-up beginning. Building on this very strong base and with Chaitali's experience and knowledge, we are confident that we will deliver our ambitious growth plans."
London-based m.d. of Collins Learning Colin Hughes said: "Our strategy for building a strong presence in the Indian schools publishing market is paying strong dividends. It's a development to which the global HarperCollins business is powerfully committed, and we are delighted that Chaitali will be joining us to take responsibility for leading Collins India up to the next level."
Moitra said: “Collins Learning is scaling up increasingly and I am delighted for the opportunity to be part of the organisation at this stage. I look forward to using my varied industry experience further to enhance that growth.”
