Chicken House has signed three more titles from Kiran Millwood Hargrave, author of The Girl of Ink & Stars.
The first of the new books, The Island at the End of Everything, is about a girl called Amihan who lives on Culion Island, where some of the inhabitants have leprosy. When a malicious government official arrives, Amihan is forced to leave with the other islanders untouched by illness.
Chicken House bought world rights, excluding North American, from Hellie Ogden at Janklow & Nesbit and will publish in May.
Millwood Hargrave said: “Working with Chicken House on The Girl of Ink & Stars was not so much a team effort as a family affair, so I’m delighted that The Island at the End of Everything has also found its home there. Leaving behind beloved characters and developing a new cast is always difficult, but writing Island has been a joy, and Chicken House have given it the same level of love, support, and delicious design as book one. I’m so excited for readers to experience this next adventure.”
