HarperCollins imprint HarperImpulse has signed two books from author Christie Barlow.
HarperImpulse acquired world all language rights to the titles.
Barlow was originally a self-published author, before signing to digital publisher Boukouture last year.
The first novel in the HarperImpulse deal, provisionally titled Nell’s Picture House, follows Nell Andrews, who after tragedy turns life upside down, finds comfort in restoring an old picture house to its former glory with the help of her mum and best friend Bessie. It will be published in winter 2017.
Barlow said: "I’m absolutely honoured and thrilled to be working with the uber-talented Charlotte Ledger and Kimberley Young at HarperImpulse. The past two years have been incredible and I’m amazed by the wonderful response to my writing. I’m really looking forward to writing my next book and can’t wait to share it with the world.’

Kimberley Young, publisher said: "Finding the very best writing talent has always been the hallmark of Impulse and we’re thrilled to add Christie – both a wonderful writer and fantastic person – to the list."
