Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby to Coronet

Coronet is publishing the first non-fiction book by novelist, actress, and TV presenter Giovanna Fletcher, Happy Mum, Happy Baby: My Adventures in Motherhood in February.

Since becoming a mum, Fletcher and her husband Tom have garnered a strong following online after sharing glimpses of their family life on their YouTube channels and other social media. 

The book will be an "honest, upbeat and incredibly personal" account of her own experience of having a family, according to the publisher, sharing her journey through parenthood and thoughts on what it is to be a mother today. 

Editorial director Charlotte Hardman acquired world rights from Hannah Ferguson of Hardman and Swainson, to publish on 23rd February 2017 in hardback, e-book and audio. 

Hardman tipped it as a "very major publiction for next year", praising Fletcher's book for its focus "on being a mum and finding confidence in yourself as a parent" and the author's warmth, her tone like "you feel you are chatting about all things mum-related with a close friend".  

She said: "I love the fact that Giovanna doesn't pretend to have all the answers but instead invites you into her family and shares what her own experiences of being a mum have taught her about modern day motherhood. There is a great appetite for honest parenting voices within the book market and such affection directed towards Gi, we are very excited about what will be a very major publication next year."

Fletcher said: "Through social media I’ve found a great platform to open discussions with other parents. I’ve bonded with a community that accepts the crazy methods of others and understands that we all are just doing what works for us. Because parenting can be challenging enough without feeling like people are constantly judging. Seeing as I write for a living, it made sense to put together an account of my biggest adventure to date. Thankfully Charlotte shares my desire to have a book of positivity and empowerment. I’m thrilled to be working with her on this."

Fletcher is also the bestselling novelist of Billy and Me, Christmas with Billy and Me, Dream a Little Dream, Dream a Little Christmas Dream, You're the One That I Want and Always with Love (Penguin). She is part of the presenting team on ITV1's "Lorraine" and her YouTube channel Giovannasworld has 160,324 subscribers with 11.5m views.
