Stuart MacBride, Jo Nesbo and Ann Cleeves are among the authors fighting it out for the Specsavers Bestseller Dagger, as the Crime Writers Association reveals the shortlists for its 2012 Crime Thriller awards.
Kathy Reich and Anthony Horowitz complete the shortlist for that award, with Horowitz nominated for his Sherlock Holmes novel, House of Silk (Orion).
Peter James, CWA chair, said: "I am very proud that this year's Crime Thrillers Award shortlists show a truly broad range of high quality work, by great authors, in the most popular of all fiction genres."
