Damian Horner is leaving his position as brand development director at Hachette UK to join Real Vision, a video-on-demand platform for finance, as its global chief creative officer. His last day at Hachette will be Monday 6th March.
Real Vision screens in-depth interviews and talks by analysts, fund managers, geopolitical strategists, economists and investors from around the world. Launched in September 2014, it’s been described as "TED for Finance".
Horner said: “I wasn’t looking to move but the role at Real Vision was too good to turn down. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved at Hachette. Much of my work has been behind the scenes but our success with New Star Soccer G-Story, the acquisition of Neon Play, our work with YouTube and impending announcements about a number of partnerships all point to the very dynamic and innovative ways in which Hachette is developing its approach to the publishing process. I am pleased to have been part of that.”
Hachette group commercial director Richard Kitson added: "We are very sorry that Damian is leaving us after many years working so effectively across Hachette UK. I know that we will miss his amazing creativity, positivity and good sense of fun and wish him the very best of luck in his new role at Real Vision. We will be thinking further about how we replace the various aspects of his role in the coming weeks, including the marketing expertise that he offered.”
