Literary agency David Luxton Associates and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) will jointly host the London Sports Writing Festival (LSWF) for the second time this October.
The London Evening Standard will support the Festival again, which will take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground from Thursday 23rd October to Sunday 26th October.
The four-day event is the only annual literary festival in the UK to be dedicated purely to sports’ writing. It will feature sports writers and personalities appearing for an extensive programme of talks, panel discussions, book signings, and other author events.
David Luxton, of David Luxton Associates Ltd, said: “We demonstrated last year that there is a huge audience for this event, and the support that we received from publishers, writers, celebrities and the public far exceeded our expectations.”
He added: “To once again have the privilege of working with MCC at Lord’s is a testament to the important place that sports writing occupies in the wider literary world. We hope that the London Sports Festival will now be viewed as one of the key fixtures in the literary calendar.”
The London Evening Standard’s sports editor, Tim Nichols, commented: “The 2014 festival promises to be bigger and better than last year with another exciting line-up of sportsmen and women, writers and broadcasters appearing at the world’s most famous cricket ground.”
The full festival programme details will be available at www.londonsportswritingfestival.com and tickets will go on sale in September.
