Illustrated reference publisher DK has promoted Sarah Larter from publisher to children’s publishing director.
Larter is currently publisher for its Children’s 5-9 division but will take overall responsility for the children’s division reporting to Alex Allan, DK’s global publisher. She first joined the company in 2003 as managing editor.
A DK spokesperson said: “Sarah's commercial and strategic awareness, and her strong relationships with authors and colleagues have seen her lead the creative development of numerous ambitious publishing projects.”
Larter said she was "incredibly proud" of DK and had enjoyed working with her talented colleagues. "This next step is a great opportunity as we continue to strengthen our children's list and develop our creative team," she said.
Allan said: “Sarah has a wealth of children's publishing experience, and with her creative instincts, we look forward to continuing to build on DK's presence under her leadership.”
DK is part of Penguin Random House and publishes visual, photographic non fiction for adults and children.
