Bonnier Publishing has appointed Lisa Edwards to the permanent role of publishing director at Templar. Edwards had previously been acting as publishing director on an interim basis for Templar and joined the company in November.
Edwards will be responsible for publishing children’s non-fiction (including the ‘Ologies’ and the ‘Welcome to the Museum’ series) picture books, pre-school and baby titles, and novelty publishing.
She said: "Having been an admirer of the Templar list for many years, I'm absolutely thrilled to be directing the publishing. Alongside an incredible heritage there is a wealth of new talent and innovation driving the list forward in non-fiction, picture books and novelty publishing."
Templar's UK creative director Helen Wicks said: “We are absolutely delighted that Lisa is joining us. With her expertise in editorial management and strong commercial instincts, Lisa is the perfect fit for this role. Under her leadership, I have no doubt that the Templar list will go from strength to strength.”
Edwards was previously publisher at Carlton Books, a role she held until March 2015. Before that she was publishing and commercial director at Scholastic Children’s Books UK, where she was named a Rising Star by The Bookseller.
