Crime writer and police psychologist Emma Kavanagh has signed a three book deal with Orion Fiction.
Kavanagh was previously published by Century and Arrow. Her debut novel, Falling, published with them in 2014, followed by her novel Hidden in 2015, The Missing Hours in 2016 and The Killer On The Wall in 2017.
Her new series with Orion will centre on the theme of identity, and opens with a murder that seems straightforward to the police until they realise that the victim cannot be traced. The first novel in the trilogy is A Perfect Victim, which Orion will publish as a paperback original in summer 2018.
Senior commissioning editor Francesca Pathak, who herself left Cornerstone for Orion in 2016, acquired UK and commonwealth rights from Camilla Wray at Darley Anderson.
Pathak said: "I’ve always loved Emma’s writing and her unique ability to delve into a character’s mind. The new series is such a brilliant concept and will keep readers guessing until the very end. We are all absolutely thrilled to be able to welcome Emma to the Orion Fiction list."
Kavanagh said: "I have admired the entire Orion team from afar for so long, and so to have the opportunity to embark on this trilogy under the watchful eye of Francesca Pathak is an absolute joy."
