Nordic young adult series, The Snow White Trilogy by Salla Simukka (Hot Keys Books) is to be adapted for the silver screen by Zero Gravity Management in association with Elina Ahlback Literary Agency.
The books, which have sold in more than 52 territories, will be turned into an English-language film by literary manager and partner at Zero Gravity Management Eric Williams and Swedish producer Gudrun Giddings, in the role of the franchise's producer, alongside bestselling Scandinavian author Simukka.
The trilogy follows the adventures of 17-year-old Lumikki Andersson as she encounters money-launderers, religious cults and a stalker.
Matilda Johnson, senior commissioning editor at Hot Key Books, said: "The Hot Key team is thrilled that Lumikki is moving to the big screen, she’s a fantastic character and perfect as the lead in these smart, fresh and haunting crime thrillers."
Simukka, who has been already been compared to the likes of Jo Nesbø and Stieg Larsson, added: "It is exciting and wonderful to be part of this project and see my texts come alive in the big screen and in readers’ minds. It is extremely wonderful that The Snow White Trilogy will be made as a film with a top producer."
