Welsh independent publisher Firefly Press has bought a new YA novel by Rhian Ivory.
Editor Janet Thomas bought world English rights to Hope, about a girl who doesn’t get into drama school so joins a singing group instead, from Gillie Russell at Aitken Alexander Associates.
Ivory is the author of five novels, including The Boy Who Drew the Future, which is also published by Firefly.
Thomas said: “We are so thrilled to be publishing Rhian again. Rhian has one of the greatest gift I’ve worked with for communicating to YA readers through her work. Hope is an uplifting story of trying new things, learning who to trust and the healing potential of music.”
The book will be published in paperback in September.
