Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown is to publish a “considered contribution to the debate surrounding Scottish independence”.
Mike Jones, publishing director, non-fiction at Simon & Schuster UK acquired rights to My Scotland, Our Britain, which will be published ahead of the referendum on Scottish independence.
In the book Brown will offer “a possibility for change, for unification without isolation and for a greater understanding of the factors that will enable a transition from division to collaborative cohesion”.
Brown, who was Prime Minister from 2007 to 2010, will also talk of his own personal experiences growing up in Scotland and as the MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath.
Jones said: “This is an important and incredibly timely book from someone who is uniquely qualified to write on this subject. We should all take its message very seriously indeed wherever we live in the United Kingdom.”
My Scotland, Our Britain will be published in hardback, priced at £20, on 19th June.
