Guardian Faber has signed a memoir from a London cycle courier, describing life in the traffic on the capital.
Unburdened: The Life and Opinions of a London Cycle Courier by Emily Chappell is described as "a hymn to London on two wheels", and follows her routes around the city from the skyscrapers to squats and boats to Downing Street.
Laura Hassan acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in a deal with Rachel Mills at PFD. The book is scheduled to be published in 2016.
Hassan said: "We were all struck by the gorgeous writing - Emily is a significant new talent in non-fiction. She has a wonderful, insightful, joyful journey planned for the reader and I can’t wait for the final manuscript to be delivered by hand, on bike."
Chappell studied at Cambridge and SOAS before becoming a cycle courier in 2008. In 2011 she began a trip to cycle around the world, writing a prize-winning blog about her journey.
