Irish multiple award-wining writer Carmel Harrington has signed a new two-book deal with HarperFiction.
Harrington's debut Beyond Grace’s Rainbow won multiple awards including the People’s Book Award Kindle Book of The Year 2013 and the Festival of Romance’s Best Romantic Read E-book 2013 after she first published with digital-first imprint HarperImpulse.
The author recently signed a deal with Hodder and ITV to write a novel about The Lost Years of television programme Cold Feet, and is also a panellist for TV3’s Midday show.
Charlotte Ledger, editorial director at HarperFiction, acquired two new novels by Harrington from Rowan Lawton at Furniss Lawton, in a world all languages deal.
Ledger said: “Carmel is one of the most hardworking, inspirational women I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. From signing her first novel for our digital first list to seeing her published in eight of the HarperCollins sister companies – Carmel hitting the top five in the Irish Times bestseller list was the icing on the cake. This new deal marks an exciting new chapter for Carmel’s publishing.”
Harrington added she looked forward to working with HarperCollins and could not “wait” to see “where this next adventure brings us”.
