Harlequin to appear on The Intern
01.05.13 | Lisa Campbell
Mills & Boon and MIRA publisher Harlequin is set to appear on Channel 4 show "The Intern" tonight (1st May), featuring former "Dragon’s Den" star Hilary Devey [pictured].
The reality programme will see Devey give young people a chance to land their first jobs with some of Britain's companies.
Tonight’s episode on Channel 4 at 11pm will show three candidates passionate about publishing vie for the opportunity to intern at Harlequin, on a paid salary. The candidates won’t know exactly what challenges they will face as they compete against each other during the week of filming, but each task will test a particular skill or aptitude deemed crucial to being a success in the publishing industry.
Tara Benson, head of marketing at Harlequin, said: “We were thrilled to be asked to take part in a flagship show for Channel 4, bringing publishing and the work we do to a mainstream audience. Working with the three interns was not only a great opportunity for them as individuals but also for Harlequin’s focus to add new, creative talent to our UK team.”
