HarperCollins has hired Sally Wilks as its UK head of sales for the children’s department.
Wilks will join HarperCollins on 24th April from Simon & Schuster, where she has sold children’s brands such as Dork Diaries and Aliens Love Underpants as a key account manager. She was previously at Michael O’Mara.
In the new role Wilks will report to HarperCollins Children’s Books global sales strategy director Brigid Nelson.
Wilks said she was "thrilled" to be joining the HC team. “I’ve enjoyed my time at S&S growing brands and launching inspiring new talents, so to move on to this exciting new challenge at HarperCollins and have the opportunity to work on their market-leading and innovative list as well as their highly-regarded classic brands feels perfect.”
Group sales director Oliver Wright said: “Sally has an obvious passion for children’s books, an impressive market knowledge and great experience of growing author brands across age groups, so I’m delighted that she’s joining the team at HarperCollins to work on our stellar children’s publishing.”
