HBG to distribute Hachette UK titles in US

Hachette Book Group (HBG) is to handle sales and distribution for Hachette UK titles into the US from January 2016.

HBG has been providing various sales and distribution services to Hachette UK for a number of years, including distribution into Canada, and North American services for Octopus Books and Quercus Books.

In January 2016 Hachette UK will end its relationship with distributor Trafalgar Square Publishing, with HBG taking on all sales and distribution.

Also in January, HBG will begin selling and distributing Hachette UK’s Chambers line of reference material, formerly distributed by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Ben Wright, international sales director of Hachette UK, said: “The move to working with HBG for all UK books distributed in North America is the latest step in the consolidating all our worldwide English-language sales arrangement within the group: we’ve been delighted by the development of the Canadian business under HBG and look forward to seeing that progress continue. Trafalgar Square Publishing have been our partners for many years and our thanks go to them for all they have done for us.”
