Hodder and Stoughton has appointed Sam Bradbury, currently with Jo Fletcher Books, as editor with commissioning responsibilities in the area of science fiction, fantasy and horror, reporting to publisher Oliver Johnson.
Bradbury, most recently editorial assistant at Jo Fletcher Books and who has previously worked at Goldsboro Books as a bookseller, said: "I am thrilled to be joining the team at Hodder & Stoughton. I have been a huge fan of their fantastic list, thriving social media community and publishing flair for years, and I look forward to the exciting opportunities and challenges that working there will provide."
Johnson added: "I was looking for a candidate with a deep knowledge of SFF, an enthusiasm for new writers in the field, a passionate advocacy of the genre and a proven record of publicising books using social media. It says a lot that Sam was recommended by several colleagues even before interview and I have no doubt that she will prove a major asset in bringing in fresh talent and using the highly successful Hodderscape social media channels as a platform to tell the world about our authors."
