Ruth Tross has been promoted to senior editor at Hodder, with responsibility for taking a strategic look at the publisher’s crime fiction list.
Tross was previously editor at Mulholland, Hodder’s crime imprint.
In a memo to staff, publisher Nick Sayers said: “She has forged a strong and productive relationship with her US counterparts, and she is building the UK side of the list with authors such as Sabine Durrant, Kate Rhodes, David Mark and - recently - Vaseem Khan.
“Already the clear leader of the Hodder team at the Harrogate Festival late-night bar, Ruth is taking on responsibility for the greater crime list now, looking at overall scheduling and the editorial side of building communities, and I know she will do it brilliantly.”
Sayers told The Bookseller Tross’ new role would not affect any author and editor relationships.
“Ruth will be helping us to take a more strategic overview of all the crime fiction, not just Mulholland, when it comes to scheduling, building online communities and generally representing Hodder in the crime world,” he said.
