TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp is penning her first cookbook Kirstie’s Real Kitchen to be published by Hodder this autumn.
Allsopp is best known as the presenter of Channel 4 property show "Location Location Location" and her book will be about "the ups and downs of feeding family, friends and fussy kids". Allsopp said she learned to cook later in life after not coming from a "foodie" home.
Recipes for weekday suppers, entertaining a crowd, breakfasts and outoor eating will all be included in the book.
Nicky Ross, lifestyle publisher at Hodder, said Allsopp was "a 21st century domestic goddess", as someone who "juggles lots of balls, works hard, has a big blended family with two stepsons and two sons of her own, and an extended circle of family and friends".
The world rights for the deal were brokered by Luigi Bonomi at LBA. Hodder has previously published four craft books by Allsopp including Kirstie’s Handmade Home and Kirstie’s Vintage Home, and will publish Kirstie’s Real Kitchen in September 2017.
Allsopp said: "I have learnt to cook as I’ve gone along. I was not a born cook nor did I come from a foodie home. This book is about the ups and downs of feeding family, friends and fussy kids, and how when I was forced to learn to cook it turned out that I could, that we all can and that there is real joy and relaxation to be found in the kitchen."
