HarperCollins imprint HQ has appointed Nia Beynon to the newly-created role head of digital publishing.
Beynon is currently at Head of Zeus, where in her role as digital sales director, she has played a part in building the digital first imprint Aria. Prior to her time at Head of Zeus, Beynon worked on Faber & Faber’s integrated e-book service Faber Factory.
The new role at HQ will give Beynon the overall responsibility for the HQ digital imprint, with a key focus on strategy and growth.
Associate publisher Nick Bates said: “We are delighted to welcome Nia to the HQ team. Digital remains one of the most fast-moving and vibrant areas of publishing and HQ has already set the pace as an innovative imprint capable of launching long-term bestsellers in e-book, such as Lisa Hall, Fiona Collins, Jenny Oliver and Samantha Tonge. Nia will be working closely with our wider editorial team to acquire and publish new and existing authors in e-book-first, driving the imprint to even greater success.”
Publishing director Kate Mills added: “Digital has been a key part of HQ’s growth over the past year and we’re thrilled that Nia is joining us at HQ Digital. She brings with her terrific experience in digital sales and huge passion for commercial fiction. We look forward to her joining in September.”
Beynon said she'd had a "fantastic" time working at Head of Zeus and had been impressed by the talent emerging from HQ. "It feels like an incredibly exciting time to be joining the team," she said.
Beynon will join HQ on 18th September 2017.
