HarperCollins imprint HQ will publish a healthy eating, workout and lifestyle book from footballer-turned-trainer-to-the-stars Bradley Simmonds.
Senior commissioning editor Rachel Kenny pre-empted world rights for Get It Done: My Plan, Your Goal: 60 Recipes and Workout Sessions for a Lean, Fit Body from Lauren Gardner at Bell Lomax Moreton in conjunction with Insanity Talent Management.
Get It Done is described as an "approachable and refreshingly straight-talking health and fitness buddy for men and women, with as much of a focus on fitness as healthy eating". With an adaptable programme to suit different personal goals, Get It Done will include HIIT and bodyweight exercises, weight training, and TRX workouts. Simmond’s book will also feature 60 "delicious and healthy" recipes.
Previously a professional footballer with Chelsea FC and Queen's Park Rangers, Simmond's career was cut short three years ago after a series of injuries. He subsequently put his life savings into a personal training course and now trains "A listers, footballers, and reality TV celebrities" while engaging with his over 190,000 Instagram followers.
Kenny said: “Although Bradley has celebrity clients, it’s his no-excuses approach to motivating ordinary people with inspiring workout videos that has amassed his huge following. I love that Bradley doesn’t shy away from the fact that, yes, it is hard work - but it’s also fun and totally worth it. Bradley inspires 100% commitment and a love of healthy living that lasts a lifetime. We can’t wait to get his plan into the hands of anyone who wants to see changes in their life and in their body.”
Simmonds said: "Get It Done is about encouraging people to step outside of their comfort zone to reach their goals. I didn't want to create another healthy recipe book, I wanted to write a book that highlights the importance of exercise. I guarantee everyone can find an exercise style they love. Combine this with delicious yet nourishing meals and you're looking at an amazing new sustainable, healthy lifestyle. That’s something everyone deserves."
Get It Done will be published as an illustrated trade paperback and e-book on 28th December.
