HarperNonFiction has acquired Instachaaz, the first book by Instagram "sensation" Chaz Hutton.
In a five-way auction, Jack Fogg, publishing director for HarperNonFiction, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from Nicola Barr at Greene and Heaton.
The publisher said: "Hutton has amassed 100,000 followers as 'Instachaaz' in a matter of months with his hilarious drawings on Post-it notes that capture the daftness of our inner lives and anxieties. His Post-its use inventive illustration, graphs and Venn diagrams to cover all manner of topics, ranging from the angst of eating an unripe avocado to the turmoils of Tinder, or even the family-tree of his sock draw. The book will be a collection of never-before-seen Post-it notes and Harper NonFiction’s key humour title for the autumn."
Fogg said: "Chaz is the Picasso of Post-it Notes, if such a thing exists. I’m exceptionally proud to be his publisher and can’t wait to unleash his particular genius on an unsuspecting public."
Hutton said: "I'm very happy that my favourite procrastination activity has now become an actual job, although conversely, slightly upsetting that I no longer have a way to procrastinate."
Instachaaz will be published by HarperCollins on 3rd November 2016.
