Jennifer Doyle, currently deputy marketing director at Cornerstone, will become fiction publishing director for Headline and Headline Review, marking "exciting new phase in Headline’s evolution".
Doyle will take up her role in September, reporting to Mari Evans, m.d. of Headline Publishing Group. The commercial fiction editorial team at Headline will report in to Doyle.
Doyle has worked at Cornerstone for five years and in that time has handled campaigns for some of the division’s most significant publications including Grey and Go Set a Watchman. Headline described her as having been "a key component" in the publishing strategies behind Cornerstone’s brand authors, including Kathy Reichs, Harlan Coben, Katie Fforde, Dorothy Koomson, Tony Parsons and Susan Lewis.
Evans commented: "I’ve long been an admirer of Jen’s work. In her career she’s worked with top flight brand authors including Lesley Pearse, Nicci French, EL James and James Patterson. Her commercial sensibilities are a perfect match for Headline and I know she’ll bring precision and passion to bear in equal measure on the publishing of Headline’s authors. This marks another exciting new phase in Headline’s evolution."
Doyle said: "I’ve had five very happy years at Cornerstone, where I’ve had the pleasure to work with some amazing authors and colleagues. Mari has always been an inspiration to me and I can’t wait to join her and the Headline team. I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic list of authors at such an exciting time for the company."
At the same time Emily Griffin has been promoted to senior commissioning editor at Headline. Evans added: "Emily has been making some superb acquisitions for Headline – including The Feed by Nick Clark Windo, one of the most talked about books of this year’s London Book Fair. She’s growing in reputation with every month that passes and we can’t wait to see what gems she will uncover next."
