Juno Dawson’s next YA novel will be a historical romance set partly in the 1940s.
Margot & Me will tell the stories of two teenage girls over the course of 50 years, including an LGBT romance and a modern-day storyline on coping with grief.
Emma Matthewson, publishing director at Hot Key Books, acquired the world rights from Jo Williamson at Antony Harwood and will publish in January 2017.
She said: “Incredibly moving, this new direction for Juno is a tour de force, guaranteed to have you reaching for the tissues.”
Dawson is also writing a book on gender and transitioning, titled The Gender Games, that will be published by Two Roads next year.
