The Kate Nash Literary Agency has made two new appointments, recruiting a new associate agent in Imogen Howson and a new literary assistant in Tom Ashton.
Howson, Kate Nash Literary Agency's new associate agent, worked for 10 years for "digital-first" publisher, Samhain Publishing, as acquiring editor and assistant to the editorial department, working with both debut and already established authors. Her authos included award winners and New York Times and USA Today bestsellers. Also an author herself, Howson's own YA books are published with Simon & Schuster in America and Quercus in the UK, with science fiction romance Linked being the winner in the YA category of the 2014 Romantic Novel of the Year.
Howson is said to read across all genres, with a particular interest in "anything with a happy ending" or that "makes her want to sleep with the light on".
New literary assistant, Ashton, has a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing from the University of Derby. While at Derby, Ashton founded the Writer's Quibble, a creative writing magazine dedicated to providing a platform for unpublished authors and poets. He has since worked with Boo Books in Derby, where he is credited in having shown "editorial ability, prowess with social media and general strength of vision, heavily contributed towards the rapid growth of the company".
