Reality TV star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian West has started a book club and is encouraging her fans and social media followers to get involved.
Kardashian West will hold the book club with her friends, model Chrissy Teigen and hair stylist Jen Atkin, and is urging readers to join them.
The first title in the book club, selected by Kardashian West, is Embraced By the Light by Betty J Eadie (Element), which tells the story of Eadie’s near death experience after an operation.
The book is an account of the author’s near-death experience in which she “recounts the people she met, the truths she learned and the realities of the spirit world”.
Teigen tweeted that all that is needed to take part in the book club is to read the book.
Kardashian West follows in the footsteps of fellow celebrity Emma Watson, who began a “feminist” book club on Goodreads in January last year, starting with Gloria Steinem’s My Life On The Road (Oneworld).
Watson went on to promote reading by leaving copies of Maya Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom in tube stations and carriages in London in November as part of the Books On the Underground project.
