Nick Coveney, Kings Road Publishing's head of digital and social media (part of Bonnier Publishing), is stepping down from his role to join information and knowledge business, Informa, as digital marketing director for KNect365, its knowledge and networking division.
Coveney's last day at Kings Road is 2nd December. He starts in his new role on 5th of December.
Coveney, an alumnus of the UCL MA in Publishing, began his career in publishing at Hodder & Stoughton working for c.e.o. Jamie Hodder-Williams to grow its audio and digital programmes across fiction and non-fiction. He was promoted and later moved across as editor for Consumer, Audio and Digital at Hodder Children’s Books.
During his time at Hachette, he worked on enhanced e-books for titles such as Miranda Hart’s Is It Just Me? and led the digitisation of several projects such as the How To Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell. He also commissioned physical books alongside audiobooks, winning the auction of Taran Matharu’s New York Times bestseller Summoner.
Coveney joined Bonnier in the summer of 2014 as head of digital at Blink Publishing to lead its digital strategy and was selected as one of The Bookseller's Rising Stars 2014. As head of digital and social media at Kings Road Publishing he oversaw the development of multiple apps and led the creation of digital marketing campaigns such as #ColourTheMagic for the Harry Potter Colouring Books.
