Literary agency Lucas Alexander Whitley and TV and digital agency Factual Management are “joining forces”, the companies have announced.
The businesses will share same office and "work very closely together," they said.
All Factual Management staff will be moving into the LAW office in Vernon Street, near Olympia in London. The move does not represent an offical merger and the two companies will retain their individual names for the immediate future.
Philippa Milnes-Smith, m.d. of LAW, said that the shared aim of the companies is to create a boutique agency which is "personal, smart, distinctive and always client focused."
Milnes Smith told The Bookseller: "Both LAW and FM will continue to operate in their own fields of excellence but they are now working very closely together. We have great complementary skills - and we’re so impressed with the way everyone is already sparking innovative thoughts and ideas."
“We are coming together at just the right time for the market, and LAW and Factual Management have already established a great relationship. We have always enjoyed working with Sophie and have long admired her teams fair and inventiveness in the TV and digital space. Our complementary talents and client lists present us with an exciting range of fresh opportunities. LAW will be 21 in September 2017, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate our coming of age.”
Sophie Laurimore, founder of Factual Management, will become a director of LAW.
Laurimore said: “I am so excited to be teaming up with the hugely respected and loved LAW. We are all looking forward to developing a new, creative and dynamic agency together.”
The Bookseller recently reported that the relationship between the book, TV and film industries has never been stronger with new, hungry players such as Netflix and Amazon Prime spurring on a flurry of dramatic rights deals being struck.
