The Publishers Association (PA), in partnership with London Book Fair (LBF), is launching a conference about inclusivity and diversity in publishing.
The event, entitled “Building Inclusivity in Publishing”, will take place 15th November in London. Themes will include increasing inclusivity in publishing, discovering new writing talent, reaching new audiences and how to diversity in the publishing workforce.
Speakers will include authors, publishers, agents and booksellers.
Stephen Lotinga of the PA said: “We're proud to be working in partnership with the London Book Fair on this important conference. The Publishers Association has been seeking for some time to strengthen links between diversity organisations and the publishing community, as we know that creating a more representative industry is a major concern for our members.”
Jacks Thomas, director of LBF, added: “As so many people across publishing are working to make the industry more inclusive, this conference gives a great opportunity to share and learn from each other’s experiences. We know from the seminar programme at LBF the industry wants both to know and to do more to make publishing accessible to all.”
The PA said it worked with diversity organisations and other “engaged parties” on the preliminary planning of the conference.
