Next year’s London Book Fair will feature an expanded matchmaking programme to increase trade with publishers from Mexico – the official market focus country for 2015.
The Mexico Market Focus Professional Programme was announced today (10th December) by the London Book Fair, the British Council and the Publishers Association (PA). The professional programme will include a series of one-to-one matchmaking sessions, as well as business events with speakers from the Mexican publishing community. Confirmed speakers include representatives from Mexican publishers Caniem, Conaculta, FCE, Planeta and Sexto Piso.
Jacks Thomas, director of the London Book Fair, said she was “delighted” to invite the Mexican publishing industry to the fair. “We know that Mexican publishers, agents, authors and poets will receive a very warm welcome in London,” she said. “This programme offers great opportunities for international publishers to grow their business links with Mexican trade, education and academic publishers.”
Richard Mollet, chief executive of the PA, said the programme will give UK publishers who want to expand in the Latin American markets a chance to build closer relationships with their Mexican counterparts.
There will also be a cultural programme featuring contemporary authors from Mexico.
Next year's LBF will take place 14-16th April at Olympia.
