Lindsey Evans, currently cookery publisher at Penguin Random House imprint Michael Joseph, has been appointed publishing director for a new Headline lifestyle imprint.
The new imprint has yet to be named. Evans will join Headline in September.
Muna Reyal, publisher for cookery and lifestyle, will assist in setting the new imprint up, reporting to Evans.
While at Michael Joseph, Evans worked with bestselling UK cookery writers including Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Gary Rhodes, Claudia Roden, Rachel Khoo and Gok Wan. She has also published a range of lifestyle and inspiration titles, including The Book of You and current bestseller Nadiya’s Kitchen.
Evans will report to Mari Evans, managing director of Headline Publishing Group.
Mari Evans commented: "Lindsey has always been an inspirational publisher – in terms of outlook, often ahead of her time, while the books she publishes always look and feel extraordinary, hitting the market square on. I’m excited to have her energy and passion at Headline and as she sets up a new lifestyle imprint with Muna, I’m confident we’ll have one of the best teams in the business, which is fitting given Headline’s non-fiction publishing 30 years ago was focused firmly on food and drink. I can’t wait to see the books Lindsey and Muna will produce together."
Lindsey Evans said: "I am absolutely thrilled that I’m going to be joining Mari and her dynamic team at Headline, a publishing house that I’ve long admired, at this very exciting time for the company. Of course, it is with huge sadness that I leave Michael Joseph, where I first started my career 20 years ago. I have had the pleasure of working with some extremely talented authors and colleagues during my time here, and am extremely grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had along the way, but I am very much looking forward to the many non-fiction adventures that await me at Hachette."
