Independent Dorset-based publisher Little Toller Books is to open a gallery showcasing the work of its collaborators.
Room at the End is located next to Little Toller’s rural headquarters in the hamlet of Toller Fratrum, near Maiden Newton.
Room at the End showcases the work of artists and designers.
Room at the End will showcase the work of artists and designers including Jonny Hannah’s new hand-painted objects inspired by Thomas Hardy, a collection of prints and small sculptures by Jo Sweeting – who will illustrate a biography of the naturalist J A Baker for Little Toller next year – prints by Tom Frost and Bea Forshall, greenwood pieces by Alex Walshall, ceramics, cards and a collection of hand-made bird callers. This will be complemented by Little Toller’s range of books including their most recent books – Snow by Marcus Sedgwick, which has recently been selected as a Radio Four Book of the Week and Arboreal, the new collection of woodland writing.
Room at the End will be open until Christmas.
Co-owner of the publisher, Gracie Cooper, said: “Little Toller has long enjoyed a really close working relationship with the artists who illustrate our books. So, it felt like a natural progression for us to open a small gallery and bookshop here, which is exactly what we’ve done for Christmas.”
Room at the End will be open daily Monday to Friday from 28th November until Christmas.
