Four Colman Getty’s managing director Liz Sich will retire at the end of 2014 after 18 years at the company. She will continue her association with the agency on a consultancy basis.
Sich joined Colman Getty in 1996 and led the PR teams on a range of high profile campaigns, including World Book Day and Quick Reads, the opening of the Library of Birmingham and, most recently, the unveiling of Foyles new flagship store at 107 Charing Cross Road. Prior to joining Colman Getty, Sich was group publicity director of Random House, where she worked with authors such as Robert Harris, Sebastian Faulks and Ruth Rendell.
Sich said: “It’s always been my long-term plan to retire when I reach 60, which conveniently falls at the end of this year. I have had the most wonderful time at Four Colman Getty. The team is second-to-none, brilliant and passionate about everything they do and great fun to work with. I’d like to pass on my heartfelt thanks to them, to all our clients, and of course, to Dotti [Irving, c.e.o. of Four Colman Getty], whose friendship, inspiration and advice have been invaluable. They have all made the last eighteen years flash by.”
She added: “I am looking forward to having more time and energy to spend with my ever-expanding family, on the three charities of which I am currently a trustee, and on travelling the world. I might even learn to cook.”
Irving said of Sich’s departure: “It goes without saying that I am personally very sad. Liz has been a wonderful friend and ally to me in our two decades together and she has been both enormous fun and a powerhouse to work with. She’ll be hugely missed – by me, by our clients and by the many people who have worked with her at Colman Getty and now Four Colman Getty over the years.”
She continued: “The silver lining is that Liz is going to continue her association with us on a consultancy basis. And that, because this has always been part of Liz’s game plan, we have planned for this and have a strong team in place going forward.”
