Thames & Hudson head of publicity Rosalie Macfarlane is leaving the company after nearly six years.
Macfarlane, who has been a publishing publicist since 1986, said she was now looking for "a complete change", and will not take up a role with another publisher. However she intends her next venture still to have a books connection, and will be making her decision after an extended travel trip to New Zealand and Australia in February.
Macfarlane joined Macdonald as publicity manager in 1986. It was later bought by Little, Brown, and Macfarlane was L,B's group publicity director until the end of 2008. She joined T&H in March 2009. "I have been lucky to have enjoyed many rewarding years in the business, to have worked with lovely and clever colleagues, and to have publicised books for many fantastic and admirable authors," she commented.
Orla Houston-Jibo will be the new head of publicity for Thames & Hudson, promoted from publicity manager.
