MacLehose Press has acquired a new novel by Swiss author Joël Dicker, author of The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair.
New novel The Baltimore Boys will centre around traumatic events that blight the lives of the Baltimore branch of Marcus Goldman's family, and is described as being "both a sequel and a prequel" to The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair which MacLehose also published.
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair was chosen for The Richard and Judy Book Club and Simon Mayo's Radio 2 Book Club and, according to the publisher, has sold 3.6m copies in 42 countries, including 750,000 copies in France.
Rights to The Baltimore Boys were bought from Editions de Fallois, Paris.
Christopher MacLehose said: “Joël Dicker is one of the outstanding storytellers of his generation. It will be the greatest pleasure for us to publish this companion volume to The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair even as it will be a joy for booksellers and readers the world over."
The Baltimore Boys will be published in hardback in summer 2017 in a translation by Alison Anderson.
