Matt Haig has revealed the cover of his forthcoming book The Girl Who Saved Christmas in a YouTube video.
This is Haig’s second children’s book with Canongate. His first, A Boy Called Christmas, which was shortlisted for Children’s Book of the Year at the 2016 British Book Industry Awards, was first published in 2015.
The video was created by Chris Mould, the illustrator of both books, and digital artist and animator Matt Howarth.
The Girl Who Saved Christmas will tell the story of “a journey to the edge of magic with none other than: Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens, the despicable Mr Creeper, a very fine cat called Captain Soot, and Amelia (maybe the only person who can save Christmas).”
Canongate is publishing The Girl Who Saved Christmas on 3rd November 2016 alongside the paperback of A Boy Called Christmas.
