Macmillan Children’s Books has confirmed it will publish Rainbow Rowell’s new title in the UK next year.
Rowell, author of YA novel Fangirl, announced the title of the new book Carry On on Twitter, saying: “Carry On will be a Simon Snow love story. It’s my first fantasy and it comes out in October. I hope you like it!”
Simon Snow is one of the characters in Fangirl. In the novel, the heroine Cath writes a fan fiction story (so is a story within a story) about two young wizards falling in love, and Simon is one of those wizards.
On her Tumblr blog, Rowell said: “Carry On is a ghost story, a love story, a mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you’d expect from a Rainbow Rowell story — but far, far more monsters.”
MCB said it was “thrilled” to be working with Rowell again, with more information to come in the New Year.
